A very nice restaurant only unfortunately very bad service. I was taken to a table there and that was all. After waiting 20 minutes, I left again. So I can't write anything to eat.

Just go there. It is definitely worth a visit. Each ship is announced with precise information and then the national anthem of the respective home port is played. It's really fun, the food and cake is delicious and the staff is very friendly.

The restaurant is right on the canal and when ships sail past it is terrific. The food is very good and the corona rules are adhered to. The service is super quick. Highly recommended.

Dear staff. Get back to the old form !!!! Has decreased again a lot. Our service today was very unfriendly. Foreign young man. Table wasn't wiped. Mask only over the mouth. When asked about it, he reacted very roguishly. There was no receipt at all despite waiting 20 minutes. The same thing at the neighboring tables. Our registration slip was not picked up. This is currently only a place for tourists who come only once because of the ships and never again! TOO BAD !!!!

Bad, slow service. Guests at the next table were molested in the worst possible way by the waiter. Tables were not disinfected, pay without a receipt. Prices not comprehensible, menu printed so small that you need a magnifying glass. Only something for tourists. Never again !!!!!!!

Nice location, stylishly furnished. Unfortunately, very inattentive and ignorant staff (except for the young man on the terrace). No greeting, no accompaniment to the table, agreement with other guests who sits where and then a bunch of untidy tables (it wasn't busy and in my opinion the staff was well staffed), 20 minutes waiting time until we got the cards. Ordered the hot chocolate with cream and got it from the machine with milk foam (was still listed on the invoice with extra cream). The cake and tart were delicious and the pieces cut in a generous size. It is a shame that the staff was not nearly as good as the cake ... For us a wasted lunch but worth a visit for everyone who comes to see the ship's welcome system, the ships are greeted with great hymns and you get a lot of information about them.

After a walk on the North Baltic Sea Canal, I came across this restaurant. They accompanied me to my seat and could order after a short time. The service is very friendly and very dedicated to satisfy visitors quickly. The food I ordered was very tasty and served quickly. As a special service, all ships that pass Resteraunt are announced. It explains where it is loaded or is being loaded, where it is going, to which shipping company it belongs and how old the ship is. The Resteraunt has a beer garden that is right on the canal where you can see the ships very well and where you can take photos of the steamers. The staff is relaxed and funny what rounds it off. You can ask the moderator who announces the ships and explain a lot. I felt comfortable and entertained all around.

The location and the originality of the ship's greeting by retired captains is of course top-notch. Maybe that's why the staff is consistently unfriendly? Otherwise it would be almost unbearable 🙃 But they are consistent. No matter which waiter you look at ... Everyone looks away indifferently and if you do come into contact, they consistently not smile. A thank you without eye contact in a queasy tone is almost kind ... But only almost ... That you are consistently ignored in the entrance area and grimly put in place when asked, also fits ... I say yes ... Consistently 🙃 One almost feels sorry for these servants ... What a difficult fate they have probably drawn with their job there ... That would at least be an idea for this mood. That was also the case on the last and penultimate visit ... I say yes ... They are consistent ... This time the coffee and the cake came together. Last time we had finished the cake ... And then came the coffee. But it's nice there. There's nothing there 🙃

The location is great, and the information about ships that pass by is also interesting. Ordered coffee and cake and a salad. Tastes okay, prices okay, you also pay for the view. Service borderline, food and drinks were served through the window to the outside so far ok but the statement "we can't get anything out, have no jackets and it's too cold for us" doesn't work at all. We sat there in shorts and t-shirts, so it wasn't that cold!

Very nice staff. OK menu. Coffee and cake and also some hearty dishes. Some large ships passed by as well. We were provided with interesting information by a specialist.

We were there quite late (7:30 p.m.). Service fast and friendly. The food was delicious and the portions huge, especially the salad. Sitting right on the NOK is great, the ambience and the furnishings are getting on in years, but ok. Has more of an insider charm. Dogs welcome!

Great view of the canal and the ships. Breakfast was good and plentiful 👍🏻 even if you have to wait a bit, but you have a good view 😉 dogs are welcome and water is available. We have made another reservation!

This restaurant has delicious food and certainly not expensive, staff is a bit stiff but it was always announced which ship was passing and the country of origin the national anthem is played very nice, certainly worth repeating

If you don't get to see many ships, this is the place for you. Nice destination and right on the canal. Friendly staff and the cake tasted good too

A wonderful place to watch ships. The train crosses the Rendsburg high bridge every 10 minutes, which is also nice. We had the bridge terrace salad for € 11.50, which was great. The service takes a while but we sat at the "last table before Kiel". Highly recommended, gladly come again.

Absolutely terrific for what it is. Which is a down home cooking place with huge (American sized) portions. Sit and watch the canal ships and trains on the bridge while you have a beer, cafe & kuchen or full meal.

We were here for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. The restaurant is beautifully situated right on the canal. At certain times, the passing ships are greeted with the national anthem and something is said about the ships via a loudspeaker system. We had a delicious breakfast. It is possible to order breakfast and only order coffee for the partner and cutlery and plates for € 5.00. We couldn't make the salmon breakfast for two. It was delicious and plentiful and the coffee tasted like coffee. And the view over the canal and those passing by is simply priceless

Nice view to the old railway bridge. Its very noisy though when the trains are passing by.

Stunning location next to the Kiel canal and under the high bridge. You can watch ocean going shipping go past and hear the trains rumble across the bridge. Food and beer were great too.

We were there for lunch at lunch time. My wife and my son had the fish plate for two, I indulged in the Matjes housewives way - since I do not have fried potatoes I asked for salad instead. Was for the staff and kitchen no problem. The food was good, the staff attentive and fast. The price of food, drinks and dessert adequate.

Nice place to eat. Right next to the river where you can see ships pass all day.
